What does the marriage of a
handsome, sun-toughened Cuban
tobacco farmer and a beautiful young cigar roller from the
Dominican Republic have to do with you? Forgive a bit of boastfulness, but, everything.
Enrique Ynclan fled Cuba
to the Dominican Republic
to begin a new life, as Fidel
Castro was taking hold of
the “old island.” Here in the
Dominican, he met Belitha Peralta, and so our story begins. The
couple named their son “Felipe” after the oldest fort in the New World,
Fortaleza de San Felipe, which happens to be in the home
region of Belitha. Felipe, earning the tobacco business almost from birth, took over his
family’s small factory at an early age following
the death of his father. Unfortunately, Felipe met an early and
tragic death due to his other passion, sailing, when he was lost at sea in a storm. But even in his short
career, Felipe touched the people in the factory, inspiring their passion for quality and craftsmanship.
Today, you will see part of our homage to him, “F.Ynclan,” on every box. The other part of our homage, you will experience in the
quality, smoothness, and unique character of every cigar created under the “La
Flor de Ynclan ” name.
Today, La Flor de Ynclan carries on a tradition of creating the finest hand rolled cigars from the best of
tobaccos. Filler from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Binder from
Indonesia. Wrapper of Ecuadorian
Connecticut Shade. La Flor de Ynclan, like the marriage of the Cuban farmer and Dominican roller so many
years ago, marries the finest of tobaccos with the expertise of skilled craftsmen to bring you a fine cigar.
